Run by students, for students. Learn a little about Model UN at UMBC.

Model UN at UMBC is an intellectual sport that has been around for 25 years. We teach students the basics of public speaking, research, speech writing, parliamentary procedure, and UN-style resolution writing, and bring it to the conferences we go to. We annually attend National Model United Nations (NMUN) DC and New York conferences in the fall and spring, respectively, where we represent member states and participate in realistic UN committees. We attend Georgetown's National Collegiate Security Conference (NCSC) in the fall, and William and Mary's &MUN conference in the spring, where we participate in historical General Assemblies and crises.

Our club is 100% student run, with our faculty advisor checking in and guiding our executive board in administrative decisions. The conference preparation activities and logistical organization of the club is all done by UMBC Students.
